"Send" button

Sorry for a very stupid question. Can you tell me what does the
following html source does if I press button "Send"? If I read this
code by Netscaspe from my local file system and then press "Send", I
see in my browser directory where the considered html source is
located. If I publish the given html source, open published page and
again press "Send" nothing changes... What I want to do, is to know
what choice did people who were visiting my published page.

The form action parameter contains a URL of a form handler -- a
server-side resource that will process the form data. In the case of a
local file, there is no server; because the form is a "GET" form, the
constructed URL of the handler is (incorrectly) the filesystem directory
containing the file (with the form parameters appended in a standard
format).

Ok. But what I do not understand is a general idea :). I understood
that after pressing "Send-button" server-side resource will process
the form data. But where I need to put program which will process this
forma data, and where is the forma data which I need to process after
some user pressed "Send button".
Thank you.

If the program already exists, then it must already be written in the way
necessary to access the form data, and all you have to worry about is where
to put the program file--which is at the location indicated by the ACTION
attribute.

If the program doesn't even exist yet, then your question is like, "I want
to create a web page. Can you tell me how?" The answer to that question
would be, "Go take an HTML course." *You* need to go take a course in some
server-side web processing technology, whether it's ASP or JSP or PHP or CGI
or something else.
